ReCoverCA Owner-Occupied Wildfire Mitigation Retrofit Program (OOM)
California homeowners can now apply for up to $50,000 in grant funding to make their properties more fire-resistant. This program is designed to help you create defensible space and harden your home against wildfires.
Who is Eligible?
You must be a homeowner living in one of the following counties: Butte, Fresno, Los Angeles, Napa, Santa Cruz, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, or Sonoma.
You don't need to have been impacted by a 2020 disaster to qualify.
Earn under 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) - check your income level HERE.
What Does the Grant Cover?
ReCoverCA grant funds can be used for a variety of wildfire mitigation activities, including:
Creating defensible space around your home
Hardening your home's exterior with fire-resistant materials
Improving access for emergency vehicles
Upgrading your water supply for fire suppression

How it works:
The ReCoverCA program utilize a project management firm and subcontractors who will perform all the work. There is no reimbursement funds for already completed work.
